Leah has been telling stories since she was three years old; the more fantastical, the better. After touring the world in the military for almost a decade, she’s finally back where she started in the wilds of Portland, Oregon with her two dogs, a feral computer, and assorted overflowing bookshelves. Over Leaf, Under Bone is her first published novel. (Don’t look in the attic trunk. Graveyards of novels not buried there; nothing to see, move along.)
Favorite foods: Cheesecake, berries, chocolate, and hazelnuts. Actually, all those things combined sound even better!
Favorite TV series: Doctor Who, Sherlock, Game of Thrones, The Legend of Korra, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (all of them, always!)
Favorite books: Oh, so many. The Lies of Locke Lamora (Scott Lynch) is a particular favorite of mine, as is Graceling (Kristin Cashore). I grew up on a steady diet that stretched from Lloyd Alexander to Madeleine L’Engle to Shel Silverstein. I love anything by Tamora Pierce, Patrick Rothfuss, Brandon Sanderson, Christopher Moore and Neil Gaiman. I will be rereading Jane Austen, Jules Verne, J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis forever, but I will always, always read something new and interesting. Never limit yourself on books. Binge, indulge. Read until you burst!
